HOW CAN I ACCESS THE INTERNET ON COCOS (K) ISLANDS?
There are a number of ways to get 'connected' when you arrive on Island.
4G LTE - MIFI DEVICES
4G LTE WiFi Routers (aka MiFi) are a small network device that provide a WiFi
network for your devices to connect to.
Multiple devices can connect to a MiFi, and you will have access to 4G over the entire Atoll.
Please contact our CRC for charges.
USING YOUR OWN LAPTOP
Simply drop into the CRC during our opening hours and plug straight in.
Enjoy the air-conditioning and the ample space on our central desk if you need to work!
USING OUR PC'S
Didn't bring your laptop or device? We have 2 x PC's available for you to check your emails or print your documents.

* IMPORTANT INFORMATION
MIFI Delivery: The CRC makes every effort to deliver your booked device to your accommodation host.
If your device is not at your place of accommodation or with your host on arrival, please collect from the West Island CRC within office opening hours.
MIFI Returns: Please ensure you return your MiFi and charger no later than –12.00pm Tuesday (for Tuesday departures) and 8.30am Friday (for Friday departures).
Late return fees of $50.00 per hour apply.
Data Notification and Top Up: We have arranged for you to receive data alert emails. If you need a data top up, please visit our office or send us an email on [email protected]
Calls and Text Messages: To make/receive calls and text messages, enable WIFI calling on your device(this is not guaranteed to work for all devices) or use chat app (WhatsApp, Messenger, Skype etc)
MIFI Care: Please ensure to keep MIFI away from exposure to direct heat, moisture and sand, and return your MIFI fully charged.
Loss and Damage: The customer is solely responsible for all loss or damage to the device during the rental period; costs for
damage will be billed directly to the customers credit card or on members account. MIFI Hire Loss and Damage Fee is $100.00.
WILL MY MOBILE PHONE WORK ON COCOS (K) ISLANDS?
By enabling WiFi calling on your mobile phone, you may be able to make and receive calls. (provided you are connected to WiFi).
Handy hint if you experience issues using WiFi calling: Go to your settings, mobile, turn WiFi calling off and then back on again
(you may need to do this as you reconnect to different hotspots located around the Island)

Absolutely! In 2011, the Cocos Keeling Islands Community Resource Centre purchased a cash machine to benefit not only our residents but visitors to our Islands.
Our cash machine accepts most cards and you are able to access the machine during our opening hours.
